School's in Session and so is Our New Intern

Hi there! My name is Kia Vang and yes, my first name is pronounced just like the car. I am entering my senior year of college at the University of Washington, majoring in Communications and minoring in Diversity. This quarter, I'm thrilled to be interning for a well-respected lifestyle agency such as Curator.

As I begin to get my hands dirty, I'm excited to learn more about the PR industry and am looking forward to tackling tasks such as writing press releases, creating social media content and building media lists that will not only challenge me as a young professional, but help me grow over the next few months.

On top of school and my internship with Curator, I am the PRSSA chapter president at UW and am currently working on planning out my chapter’s calendar of events and activities. My experience has been enriching thus far and I hope to provide my members with a remarkable experience that will include networking opportunities, professional development workshops, and more. I admire the work that public relations agencies put forth and I’m extremely excited that my passion has led me to Curator!

In my down time, I love traveling--although my wallet always wants to tell me otherwise--and learning about new cultures, which is why I studied abroad in Rome, Italy last winter. Fun fact: my ethnicity is Hmong (the H is silent). Not a lot of people have heard of it, but if you ask me about it, I'm happy to share more with you. You can also find me searching for new coffee shops--even though I'm not a coffee drinker--or spending time with my huge family of nine and making silly videos with my 6-year-old sister.
