Stress. Some of us thrive under pressure and some of us crack.

Ever wondered what the most stressful jobs in America are? You’re not alone! CareerCast, a job search site, compiled a list of 200 professions and evaluated each occupation’s stress levels. Stressors measured included travel, deadlines, public scrutiny, physical demands, environmental conditions, risk to life and interactions with the public.

Check out the professions that topped the list. Spoiler alert, PR pros landed the number six spot, with stress brought on by “client demands, tight deadlines and public scrutiny, as well as long and unsociable hours,” according to PR Week. This is good news for the industry, though, as PR executive came in number two slot in 2011.

  1. Enlisted military personnel
  2. Firefighter
  3. Airline pilot
  4. Police officer
  5. Event co-ordinator
  6. PR executive
  7. Senior corporate executive
  8. Broadcaster
  9. Newspaper reporter
  10. Taxi driver
