Meet Valerie Pietrczak, One of our Winter Interns

Hello! My name is Valerie, and I am a winter intern with Curator.

Although I was born and raised in California, home for me has been many places: studying and living in Flagstaff, Ariz., and completing internships abroad in Germany as well as in Indiana. I strongly believe that true knowledge in a field can only come through experiencing it through different lenses, whether it be a change in culture, location, industry, company stance, or language.

I recently completed my education at Northern Arizona University with a B.A. in Modern Languages, emphasis German, and a B.Sc. in Strategic Communication, emphasis Public Relations. My undergraduate career allowed me to merge my passion for communication with my interest in culture through research and internships. This included capstone projects and work with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra as well as full-time internships with Audi Corporation and Music for All. My work with these organizations both furthered scholastic and entertainment-based music and arts initiatives and allowed me to tap into a unique and passionate communities using public relations.

While this unique sector of communications fascinates me, I remained captivated by the unique challenge to stay proficient in all industries and facets of public relations presented by becoming skilled in strategy and client work. I knew that an agency would allow me to do just that. Curator’s variable and impressive client base and their alignment with my personal values will undeniably set me up to become a better public relations professional as well as continue to mold my identity in the industry.

My last few years have been spent quite literally all over the place (Arizona, Germany, and Indiana) and instilled me with a love for exploring new cultures and traveling in general. You can also find me trying out new restaurants with friends, bouldering, or staying at home to read a book and binge an occasional Netflix show.

In the future I hope to pursue a graduate degree to deepen my knowledge and experience within communications and marketing. But for now, I look forward to finding a new home at Curator and getting to work with the agency’s talented and knowledgeable team.
